Voight Garners NECC Weekly Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College senior Brie Voight (Springfield, Mass.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week, in a release from the conference office This is the first time this season Voight has been selected as the Player of the Week.

Voight led the Blazers offensively during an unbeaten 2-0-1 week for Elms. Voight potted a pair of goal, including the overtime game-winner, for the Blazers during a 2-1 at Bay Path, and then added two more goals in a 10-0 rout over Wheelock. Voight netted a crucial second goal for the Blazers as Elms battled #21 Brandeis in a double overtime tie. With her first goal in the win over Wheelock, Voight became Elms' all-time leader in career goals, surpassing the mark set by Krystyna Gagne (46) from 2006-2009.

Voight and the Blazers finished the regular season with a 6-1-1 mark, earning the second-seed for the NECC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament and a first-round bye in the tournament. The Blazers will be back on the field for the NECC Championship Semifinals Wednesday, November 1st at Leary Field.
