Doherty Claims NECC Rookie of the Week Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College freshman Lillian Doherty (Glastonbury, Conn.) was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, in a release from the conference office Monday.

Doherty has started all five games of her rookie season on the Blazers defensive line, which has limited opponents to just three goals in five matches. Doherty has helped the Elms defense posted a trio of shutouts over non-conference opponents Southern Maine, Eastern Connecticut State, and New England College.

The Blazers will return to the pitch when they host Nichols College in a non-conference clash at Leary Field Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
