Baseball Earns Seventh Seed in 2013 ECAC Division III New England Championship

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Elms College baseball team earned the seventh seed and the program's first-ever selection to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship and will travel to No. 2 Castleton State College on Wednesday, May 8 at 3:30 p.m.

Under the guidance of third-year head coach Nathan Bashaw, Elms posted an overall record of 19-19 in 2013 and set the program record for wins in a single season. The Blazers will take on Castleton State which owns an 8-0 record against Elms dating back to the first meeting in 2005. The teams last met in 2008 when the Blazers were members of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). The Spartans enter Wednesday's tilt with an overall mark of 28-13.

Suffolk University earned the top seed in the seven-team tournament with a 29-12 record and received a first round bye. Suffolk will face the winner of No. 4 Husson University and No. 5 Coast Guard Academy in the semifinals this weekend. MIT earned the third seed in the tournament and will take on No. 6 Mitchell College.

Semifinals – Saturday, May 11, Hosted by Suffolk University
No. 1 Suffolk University (29-12) vs. No. 4/No. 5 winner, 12 p.m.
No. 2/No. 7 winner vs. No. 3/No. 6 winner, 3 p.m.

Championship – Sunday, May 12th, Hosted by Suffolk University
