Blazer Falls on the Road at Rivier
Nashua, NH – The Elms College Men's Volleyball Team lost in straight sets on Thursday night on the road at Rivier University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first set saw the Blazers off to a slow start and saw themselves down 17 at 4-21. The Blazers were able to grab some momentum on a trio of kills from Cecil Villa, Luis Martinez, and Moose Perry while capitalizing on a string of Raider errors to close the gap to 12 at 11-23. Elms fell 13-25. The second set was much tighter as the Blazers only trailed by 3 off a kill from Pedro De Jesus at 8-11. The Raiders pushed the gap to 7 before the Blazers fell to a 0-5 run to end the set 13-25. The third set saw the Blazers trailing by 3 early before a kill by Carlos Martinez and a string of Raider errors gave the Blazers a 14-11 advantage. The teams continued to trade points with the Blazers leading as late as 19-17 in the set before a Raider service run had them trailing by 1. Elms fell 22-25 in the set and 0-3 in the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Carlos Mercado led the Blazers with 9 kills with De Jesus and Perry adding 3 each.
Collin Liedke led the Blazer defense with 5 digs with Villa, De Jesus and Martinez each adding 4.
De Jesus and Perry each tabbed 2 solo blocks.

The Blazers are set to play Rivier again on Thursday (3/17) for a 7pm start.
