Keith Brown Selected as NECC Rookie of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College freshman Keith Brown (Hartford, Conn.) was chosen as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday morning. This is Brown's first Rookie of the Week award, and the program's first NECC Rookie of the Week honor since joining the NECC.
Brown set an Elms program record on any 8K course, placing 122nd overall with a personal-best time of 28:51.62 at the 20th annual James Earley Invitational Saturday afternoon. Brown shattered the previous school record, which stood for 13 years, by nearly a minute and a half.
Brown and the Blazers will return to action at the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford, Connecticut Saturday afternoon.
