NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA, Sept. 20, 2008 - Senior Jill Bigos (South Hadley, MA) clocked a personal-best time of 21:50 over 5,000 meters to help lead the women's cross country team to a 14th place finish at Saturday's UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
Bigos placed 68th overall in the 199-runner field for the Blazers, who tallied 467 points. MIT won with a score of 35. Amherst (50), Tufts (80), Conn College (97) and Keene State (159) rounded out the top five teams.
Freshman Lilliana Cuervas (Westfield, MA) (25:08), junior Amanda Koch (Williston, VT) (26:23) and freshmen Becka Boisseau (Chicopee, MA) (26:55) and Erica Cruz (Westfield, MA) (32:16) were the Blazers' other finishers on Saturday.
Elms College returns to action when it hosts the Blazers Invitational next Saturday, September 27 at Chicopee Memorial State Park.
