Women's Cross Country Places 6th at Smith Invitational

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES 6TH AT SMITH INVITATIONAL  

NORTHAMPTON, MA, Sept. 9, 2006 - Elms College sophomore Catherine Andrews (Agawam, MA) and Joe Crooks (Springfield, MA) earned the highest individual finishes for the Blazers' men's and women's cross country teams at Saturday's Smith Invitational.

Andrews clocked a time of 23:19 over the 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) course to place 35^th overall, while Crooks was fifth in the men's race with a time of 20:00.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams return to action when they host the Blazers Invitational at Chicopee Country Club on Saturday, September 23.
