HOLYOKE, MA, Sept. 24, 2008 - Elms College freshman middle hitter Stacy Croteau (Agawam, MA) and senior outside hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) combined for 19 kills, 13 digs and four aces to lead the Blazers to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-16) win over Bay Path College in the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's volleyball match for both teams on Wednesday night at Holyoke Community College.

Junior setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) dished out a match-high 20 assists for the Blazers, who improved to 2-10, 1-0 NECC. Bay Path fell to

Freshman outside hitter Jen Rego (Falls River, MA) added eight assists, five kills, three digs and a match-high four service aces.

The Blazers, who hit a sizzling .476 in the match, held a decisive advantage in aces (13-2) and committed just two receiving errors all night.

Elms College returns to NECC play when it hosts Becker on Saturday, September 27. Match time at the Maguire Center is 10:00 a.m.
