Four Women's Volleyball Players Named All-NECC

ATTLEBORO, MA, Oct. 31, 2008 - The Elms College women's volleyball team recently had four players named First Team All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC).

Senior outside hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) was named both Player of the Year and First Team after leading the NECC during the regular season in both kills (90) and aces (32) in seven conference matches.

Junior setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) and freshmen outside hitter Jen Rego (Fall River, MA) and middle hitter Stacy Croteau (Agawam, MA) all join Nunez as First Team selections.

Phillips, already the program's all-time leader in career assists, registered 132 assists in seven regular season conference matches, Rego added 29 kills, 33 assists and 16 aces, while Croteau knocked down 62 kills and added 14 aces.

Head coach Sheila Gisbrecht was named the first-ever NECC Coach of the Year after leading the Blazers to a share of the regular season conference title.
