Women's Volleyball Defeats Daniel Webster, 3-1

CHICOPEE, MA, Oct. 17, 2007 - Elms College junior outside hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) knocked down 13 kills and tallied 23 digs to help the Blazers earn a victory over Daniel Webster 3-1 (30-27, 30-18, 19-30, 30-26) in Wednesday night's non-conference women's volleyball match at the Maguire Center.

Sophomore middle hitter Melissa Clark (Chicopee, MA) also had 13 kills and contributed 12 digs in the Blazer win.

Daniel Webster outside hitter Brianna Johnson (Nashua, NH) tallied a match-high 15 kills and added 15 digs in the losing effort.

With the victory Elms College improves to 8-11 and sets a program-record for victories in a season. Daniel Webster loses its fourth straight match to drop to a mark of 5-9.

Elms College returns to conference play with a tri-match at Becker that includes Maine-Farmington on Saturday, October 20.  Match time is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
