Fobbs Named Interim Head Coach for Men's & Women's Swimming

CHICOPEE, Mass. - Elms College Athletic Director Rob Southall announced this week that DeAngela Fobbs will be the College's new Interim Head Coach for Men's and Women's Swimming.

"I'm ecstatic to welcome Coach Fobbs to the athletic department. I'm excited to watch her grow and develop our swimming programs" said Southall. "Her experiences as a student athlete have prepared her to lead our programs".

Most recently, Fobbs was a member of Elms Women's Swimming team last season, breaking four records, three Elms program records and the Regis pool record in the 50-yard butterfly, a two-time GNAC Women's Swimmer of the Week, and placed first at the GNAC Championship last season in the 50, 100, and 200-yard butterfly. Previously, she was a four year member of the Howard University Women's Swimming team (NCAA Division I) from 2017-18 until 2020-21. At Howard, Fobbs was a two-year captain and broke the 200-yard freestyle relay record. Outside of the pool, Fobbs was an assistant coach for HEAL Swim Club in Washington, D.C.

The Upper Marlboro, Md. native is a 2021 graduate of Howard where she received his bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine and is currently earning her master's degree in Biomedical Science at Elms.
