CHICOPEE, MA, Nov. 16, 2008 - St. Joseph's (ME) College sophomore Lindsay D'Ascanio (Kennebunk, ME) won two events and also swam a leg of both winning relay teams to help carry the visiting Monks to a 161-94 victory over Elms College in Sunday's women's swimming meet at Partyka Natatorium.

D'Ascanio posted first place finishes in both the 100-meter butterfly (1:14.46) and 100-meter freestyle (1:08.63) for the Monks, who won 11 of the meet's 14 events, including the 200-meter medley and 200-meter freestyle relays.

Elms College freshman Ashley Arbo (Rocky Hill, CT) was the only three-event winner in the women's meet, as she posted victories in the 200-meter individual medley (2:44.84), 50-meter freestyle (30.25) and 100-meter backstroke (1:15.67).

Freshman Hannah Gajewski (Biddeford, ME) was also a double-event winner for the Monks, as she finished first in both the 100-meter breaststroke (1:26.00) and 800-meter freestyle (10:33.02).

Elms College returns to action when it hosts Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, November 22. Meet time is 11:00 a.m.
