BOSTON, MA, Nov. 8, 2008 - Elms College freshman Ashley Arbo (Rocky Hill, CT) won three events to help the Blazers earn a split of Saturday's women's swimming & diving double-dual meet at Simmons College.

The Blazers (1-4) lost to Simmons 91-39, but defeated Wheelock 86-47.

Arbo won three events for the first time in her collegiate career, as she was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.57), 50-yard butterfly (29.79) and 100-yard butterfly (1:07.72).

Sophomore Dariana Diaz (Dorchester, MA) won the 200-yard individual medley (2:55.88) and placed third in the 50-yard backstroke (35.20).

Sophomores Theresa Pitassi (Naugatuck, CT) (2:21.78, 200-yard freestyle) and Alison McBride (East Providence, RI) (38.65, 50-yard breaststroke) both earned third place finishes for the Blazers.

Elms College hosts St. Joseph's (ME) in its home opener on Sunday, November 16. Meet time at Partyka Natatorium is 11:00 a.m.
