NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA, Feb. 22, 2009 - Elms College freshman Ashley Arbo (Rocky Hill, CT) posted an 11th place finish in the 50-yard backstroke and the Blazers placed 20th overall in the final team standings of the 2009 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) women's championship at UMass-Dartmouth.

Elms College finished with a three-day total of 37 points in the 22-team championship. Keene State (899) held off Bentley (830) en route to team championship honors. St. Michael's (514), Roger Williams (512) and Western Connecticut State (486) rounded out the top five teams.

Arbo recorded her highest individual finish at the championship, as she clocked a time of 30.89 in the 50-yard backstroke.

The three-day NEISDA Championship marked the end of the Blazers' 2008-09 season.
