NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA,  Feb. 21, 2009 - Elms College senior Katelyn Wasgatt (Worcester, MA), sophomore Theresa Pitassi (Naugatuck, CT), and freshmen Katie Roberts (Torrington, CT) and Ashley Arbo (Rocky Hill, CT) combined to set a new school-record in 800-yard freestyle relay to highlight the second day of competition for the women's swim team in the 2009 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at UMass-Dartmouth.

The four teamed to clock a new record-setting time of 9:17.02 to place 16th in the event.

Following two days of competition, the Blazers have tallied 27 points and are currently 19th out of 22 teams.  Keene State (649), Bentley (563), St. Michael's (383), Western Connecticut (462) and Eastern Connecticut State (357.5) are the top five teams.

The four also combined to place 18th in the 200-yard medley relay (2:07.38), while Arbo finished 16th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.36).

The Blazers conclude the three-day NEISDA Championship on Sunday, February 22.
