NEW LONDON, NH, Nov. 18, 2006 - Elms College freshman Elizabeth Walker (Holyoke, MA) won a pair of events, and finished second in another, but Colby-Sawyer posted a 159-127 win in Saturday's women's swimming dual-meet at Colby Sawyer.

With the loss, the Blazers fell to 2-3 overall, while Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-1 overall.

Sophomore Kate Orefice (Southington, CT) finished first in the 50-yard breaststroke, and second in the 50-yard butterfly, which was good enough for a school record.

Walker earned victories in the 100-yard butterfly, and 100-yard breaststroke. She set a school record and a Colby-Sawyer pool record with her first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Walker also finished second in the 100-yard individual medley by setting another school record.

Junior Katy-Jo Bryll (East Hartland, CT) and freshman Marie Waterhouse (East Longmeadow, MA), each set school records in the 100-yard freestyle, and 100-yard backstroke events respectively.

Waterhouse teamed with Walker, Orefice and Bryll to finish first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:01.59.

The women return to action Saturday, December 2, when they compete at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championships. The men return to action Wednesday, December 6, when they host Trinity College. Meet time is set at 7:00 p.m.
