CHICOPEE, MA, Oct. 14, 2008- Elms College's sophomore forward Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA) netted the game winning goal, her ninth of the year, to give Elms College a thrilling 2-1 double-overtime win over Framingham State College in Thursday night's non-conference women's soccer game at Leary Field.

Elms College won its sixth straight game to improve to 7-6 overall. Framingham State fell to 3-8.

With the game tied 1-1 in the second overtime, junior forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) saved a long pass that appeared to be heading out of bounds, and delivered a pass to senior midfielder Kerrie Bowden (Chicopee, MA), who then sent a quick pass into the top of the penalty area.

From there, freshman forward Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, MA), delivered a one touch centering pass to Couture, who broke in and hammered home a shot past senior goalkeeper Kate Simonelli (Pittsfield, MA).

Framingham State College started the scoring off in the 10th minute when an Elms College defender tipped the ball past freshman goalkeeper Kelly Callahan (Monson, MA) before freshman forward Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, MA) collected the loose ball and scored into an empty net for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Junior midfielder Maggie Rivers (Dalton, MA) tallied her first goal of the season to tie the game 1-1 in the 53rd minute on a header from a centering pass that deflected off a Framingham State defender.

Framingham State held huge advantages in both shots (37-6) and corner kicks (11-3), but Callahan came up huge with 16 saves on the night to post her fourth win of the season.

Elms College continues non-conference action on Thursday, October 16th at St. Joseph (CT).  Game time is 4:00 p.m.
