Setting The Scene: Elms College and Lesley University meet for the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament championship on Saturday afternoon. The top-seeded Blazers, who rolled to a perfect 8-0 record en route to winning the conference's regular season title, posted a 4-0 shutout victory over No. 4 Daniel Webster in last Saturday's conference tournament semifinals. In that game, junior forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) scored her team-leading 14th goal of the year and the Blazers scored three goals in the opening 33 minutes. Gagne opened the scoring for the Blazers in the 24th minute when she deflected a shot past Daniel Webster freshman netminder Amy Waller (Berlin, MA).  Senior defender Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) extended Elms College's lead to 2-0 just 4:43 later with an unassisted goal - her second of the season. Junior forward Serina Percoski (Westfield, MA) struck for her eighth goal of the year in the 33rd minute off an assist from freshman forward Jen Killion (Cambridge, MA) to give the hosts a comfortable 3-0 advantage at intermission. Sophomore midfielder Sarah Donais (Granby, MA) netted her third goal this season off Killion's second assist of the contest to conclude the scoring. Freshman goalkeeper Kelly Callahan (Monson, MA) was called upon to make one save, as she posted her sixth shutout of the year.

Scouting The Lynx: Lesley punched its ticket into Saturday's title game following an impressive 3-0 shutout victory over No. 3 Becker in last week's semifinal. The Lynx, in the midst of a record-setting season, will look to snap a 10-game winless streak to the Blazers that dates back 18 years. In last Saturday's win over Becker, junior defender Cathryn Folkestad (Ipswich, MA) scored what stood as the eventual game-winning goal in the 23rd minute. Junior forward Jodi Fralick (Woburn, MA) added insurance goals in the 37th and 73rd minutes to seal the victory. Fralick will need to be closely marked by the Blazers, as she heads into Saturday's championship as the conference's leading scorer with 27 goals and 61 points.

In The Regular Season: Elms College posted a thrilling 1-0 win over Lesley in the regular season finale for both teams two weeks ago. In that game,Percoski netted her seventh goal of the season and Callahan stopped four shots to post the shutout.
