ATTLEBORO, MA, Oct. 29, 2008 - The Elms College women's soccer team recently had five players named All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), including three First Team selections.

Elms College's five all-conference selections were the most in head coach Ryan Kelly's five seasons on the Blazers' sidelines.

Junior forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) was named both First Team All-NECC and Player of the Year. In eight conference games, Gagne led the NECC with 11 goals and 28 points.

Sophomore forward Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA) and senior defender Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) both joined Gagne as First Team selections.

In eight conference games, Couture recorded 10 goals and 24 points, while Bobbie helped lead a defense which did not yield a goal in NECC play. The Blazers outscored the opposition 43-0 en route to claiming the conference's first-ever regular season championship.

Junior defender Kelsey Battige (Monson, MA) and freshman goalkeeper Kelly Callahan (Monson, MA) both earned Second Team honors.

Battige, a three-year starter, scored the game-winning goal in the Blazers' conference victory over Southern Vermont on October 8, while Callahan posted a perfect 5-0 conference record and 0.00 goals against average.
