CHICOPEE, MA, Sept. 27, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) blocked four shots, but Mount Holyoke College struck twice in the second half to pull away from the Blazers for a 2-0 victory in Thursday afternoon's non-conference women's soccer game at Leary Field.

Mount Holyoke gained the lead in the 51st minute when freshman midfielder Colleen Richards (Forest Hills, NY) scored off a feed from sophomore forward Lauren Orr (Fullerton, CA).  Orr tallied her second assist of the game three minutes later when she helped set up junior forward Emmy Fontaine (Bolton, MA) for a chip shot which soared over Donnelly's head into the net.

Elms College sophomore forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) gave the Blazers their best scoring opportunity in the 56th minute on a break-away blast that was turned away by the diving Mount Holyoke sophomore goalkeeper Elaine Harvey (Bolton, MA)

With the victory Mount Holyoke moves to 2-6 while Elms College drops to 2-6-1 on the season.

Elms College returns to conference play when they travel to Castleton on Sat, Sept. 29.  Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
