WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUTOUT AT SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE, 9-0

SPRINGFIELD, MA, Sept. 2, 2007 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) stopped seven shots, but Springfield College sophomore forward Maria Evans (Gloucester, MA) netted a pair of goals to help power the Pride to a 9-0 shutout win over the Blazers in Sunday night's Springfield Invitational non-conference women's soccer game at Irv Schmidt Field.

Elms College fell to 0-2 overall, while host Springfield improved to 2-0.

The Pride had a total of eight players score in the victory.

Elms College returns to non-conference play when it hosts Nichols College on Wednesday, September 5. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
