NORTH ADAMS, MA, Sept. 13, 2007 - Elms College sophomore forward Kelsey Battige (Monson, MA) netted her first two collegiate goals and junior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) stopped a season-high 16 shots to help the Blazers cruise to a 3-1 win over MCLA in Thursday afternoon's non-conference women's soccer game at North Adams.

Elms College snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 1-4. MCLA, which had scored 19 goals in its previous three games, fell to 3-3.

Battige struck for her first goal in the 20th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Vanessa Pare (Belchertown, MA) to give the Blazers a quick 1-0 lead.

Elms College held its one-goal lead into the 63rd minute when sophomore forward Serina Percoski (Westfield, MA) collected senior defender Caitlin Childs' (Hingham, MA) corner kick and deposited her first goal of the year to extend the Blazers' lead to 2-0.

Battige added her second goal of the match in the 82nd minute before MCLA freshman forward Jackie Vye (Castleton, NY) spoiled Donnelly's shutout bid with a goal in the 83rd minute to close the scoring.
