CHICOPEE, MA, Sept. 19, 2006 - Elms College senior forward Jen LeDoux (Easthampton, MA) netted her team-leading fourth and fifth goals of the season and sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) stopped two shots to lead the Blazers to a 3-0 shutout over Lesley University in Tuesday afternoon's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer game at Leary Field.

Elms College won its third straight game to improve to 3-3 overall, 2-0 NAC. Lesley lost its third straight game overall and in conference to fall to 2-3-1 overall, 0-3 NAC.

LeDoux, who has scored five goals in the Blazers' last three games, opened the scoring in the 5th minute and followed with her second goal of the contest 20 minutes later to give Elms College a 2-0 lead.

Freshman midfielder Vanessa Pare (Belchertown, MA) ran the Blazers' lead to 3-0 in the 42 minute with her second goal of the year.

Freshman forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) blasted an initial shot from deep inside the 18-yard box, but Lesley junior goalkeeper Sarah Wedge (Londenderry, NH) made a brilliant diving stop. Pare, however, collected the rebound and quickly deposited the ball into the open net.

Wedge was outstanding for the visiting Lynx, as she finished with 20 stops in the losing effort.

Donnelly recorded her second straight conference win, and third straight overall for the Blazers, who held decisive advantages in both shots (42-2) and corner kicks (14-0).

Elms College returns to NAC play on Saturday, September 23 when it hosts Maine Maritime Academy. Game time is 3:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
