FARMINGTON, ME, Oct. 15, 2006 - Elms College senior forward Jen LeDoux (Easthampton, MA) netted her team-leading 10th goal of the year and the Blazers won for the 11th in their last 12 games with a convincing 3-0 shutout over the University of Maine-Farmington in Sunday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer game at Farmington, Maine.

With Sunday's victory, the Blazers improved to 11-4 overall and remained the NAC's only undefeated team at 9-0. Maine-Farmington saw its season-high, four-game winning streak snapped as it fell to 10-6 overall, 7-3 NAC.

Elms College's 11 overall and nine conference victories are the most since joining the NAC in 1999. The Blazers, who last won a NAC championship in 1999, will attempt to go undefeated in regular season conference play for the first time in team-history with three games this week when they play at Bay Path College on Wednesday, October 18 and then host Johnson State College and Castleton State College next Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22.

In Sunday's win, freshman midfielder Vanessa Pare (Belchertown, MA) opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the year in the 20th minute for what stood as the eventual game-winner.

LeDoux, who scored two goals in Saturday's 3-0 win at Thomas, extended the Blazers' lead to

2-0 in the 56th minute and junior midfielder Jamie Walsh (Springfield, MA) concluded the scoring with her fifth goal of the year in the 76th minute on a penalty kick.

Sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) stopped two shots to record her seventh shutout this season for the Blazers, who outshot the hosts Beavers 6-5.
