Women's Soccer Falls to Roanoke, 4-1

 WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO ROANOKE, 4-1

SALEM, VA, Sept. 2, 2006 - Elms College freshman forward Krystyna Gagne (Metheun, MA) netted her first collegiate goal, but host Roanoke College pulled away with three first-half goals to earn a 4-1 non-conference win over the Blazers in the opening round of Saturday's Roanoke Invitational women's soccer tournament at Salem, Virginia.

With the loss, Elms College (0-1 overall) moves into Sunday's consolation game to face Catholic University. Game time is 12:00 p.m. Roanoke (1-0 overall) advances to face the University of Rochester in the championship game at 2:30 p.m.

Sophomore goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) stopped eight shots for the Blazers, who were outshot 17-4.
