WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO PINE MANOR, 10-1

CHESTNUT HILL, MA, April 15, 2009 - Elms College sophomore midfielder Jenn Lough (Feeding Hills, MA) netted her team-leading 18th goal of the year, but Pine Manor scored the game's first eight goals and went on to post a 10-1 victory over the Blazers in Wednesday's non-conference women's lacrosse game at Chestnut Hill.

With the loss, the Blazers remained winless at 0-11. Pine Manor improved to 3-6 on the year.

The host Gators led just 1-0 for most of the first half then struck for a pair of goals in the final 3:30 of the first half to take a slim 3-0 lead to intermission.

From there, Pine Manor then tacked on five more unanswered goals in the first 12:59 of the second frame to build an insurmountable 8-0 advantage.

Lough scored with 7:40 remaining and freshman goalkeeper Holly Braziel (Shelburne Falls, MA) finished with 11 saves in the loss.

Elms College returns to New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) play when it hosts Westfield State on Saturday, April 18. Game time at Leary Field is 5:00 p.m.
