CHICOPEE, MA, April 14, 2007 - Elms College junior center Lauren O'Donnell (Hampden, MA) netted a pair of goals, but Worcester State senior center Ann Clark (Worcester, MA) struck for a game-high seven goals to help lift the visiting Lancers to a 16-3 win over the Blazers in Saturday's New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) game at Leary Field.

Worcester State improved to 6-3 overall, 4-1 NEWLA, while Elms College remained winless at 0-6, 0-3 NEWLA.

The Blazers jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead just 19 seconds into the game on junior defense wing Caitlin Childs' (Hingham, MA) team-leading seventh goal of the season.

The Lancers, however, then responded with nine unanswered goals - including four by Clark - to build a 9-1 lead at intermission.

Clark, who began the week ranked third nationally in NCAA Division III in goals per game, added three more second half tallies to run her NEWLA-leading total to 45 on the season.

Worcester State had nine other players tally a goal apiece in Saturday's victory, including sophomore midfielder Shannon Feeley's (West Springfield, MA) 25th goal of the year.

Junior Lyndsey Nunes (West Springfield, MA), who scored her first goal of the year late in the game, combined with freshman Caitlin Early (Shrewsbury, MA) to stop eight shots in goal for the Lancers in Saturday's victory.

Elms College sophomore goalkeeper Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) turned away 18 Worcester State offerings in the losing effort.

The Blazers are scheduled to return to NEWLA play with a game at Thomas College on Sunday, April 15. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
