HOLYOKE, MA, Feb. 14, 2009 - Elms College freshman guard Katie Condon (Sandy Hook, CT) netted a collegiate career-high 15 points and the Blazers used a big second half run to pull away to a 57-27 win over Bay Path College in Saturday's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's basketball game at Bartley Gymnasium.

Senior forward Paige Schneider (Windsor, CT) added her second straight double-double and sixth this season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and is now just 21 points away from becoming the program's 12th all-time leading scorer.

The Blazers won for the seventh time and eight games to improve to 12-10 overall, 10-3 NECC. Elms College's current 12 wins are the team's most since going 15-12 in 2001-02. Bay Path fell to 3-20, 1-13 NECC.

The Blazers led just 20-14 at halftime before erupting for a 19-2 run over the first 7:26 of the second half. Junior forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA) netted seven of her nine points as Elms College scored 12 unanswered points in the first 4:03 of the second frame.

Elms College shot 40.6-percent (23 of 64) for the game, but held a huge 60-27 rebounding edge, including 22-8 on the offensive end.

The Blazers return to NECC play when they host Southern Vermont on Tuesday, February 17. Tip-off is 7:00 p.m.
