Brogna Named NECC Player of the Week

BROGNA NAMED NECC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ATTLEBORO, MA, Feb. 9, 2009 - For the fourth time this season, Elms College women's basketball junior forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week.

Brogna, who also earned weekly NECC honors on December 8, January 20 and 26, recorded a game-high 16 points and 16 rebounds to help the Blazers upset conference frontrunner Lesley University 60-51 last Thursday night.

Brogna's double-double was her 12^th of the year and ninth in 10 conference games.

Coming into the week, Brogna is fourth in the conference in scoring (17.6 ppg) and second in rebounding (11.7 rpg).
