CHICOPEE, MA, Feb. 19, 2008 - Elms College sophomore guard Annie Dunnack (Mansfield Center, CT) dropped in a game-high 12 points and the Blazers used clutch free throw shooting in the final 91 seconds to hold off Bay Path College 42-35 in Tuesday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's basketball game at the Maguire Center.

Elms College snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 8-15 overall, 5-8 NAC. Bay Path lost its sixth straight and fell to 2-21, 1-12 NAC.

With the Blazers clinging to a 36-35 lead and 1:31 remaining, Dunnack drained a pair of free throws to extend the lead to 38-35.

Following two defensive stops by Elms College on Bay Path's next two possessions, senior point guard Michelle Fernandes (Danbury, CT) delivered four clutch free throws in the final 24 seconds to seal the victory.

Fernandes and sophomore forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA) scored nine points apiece. Brogna also hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds, while junior forward Paige Schneider (Windsor, CT) added eight points and 11 rebounds in the winning effort.

Elms College, which held a 47-33 rebounding edge, outscored Bay Path 14-2 in the paint.

Senior forward Chrissy Ordyna (Great Barrington, MA) and senior guard Laila Falkenberg (Springfield, MA) netted 10 points apiece for the Wildcats, who trailed 24-14 with 18:44 remaining in the game before using a 21-12 run to cut the deficit to one point in the game's final 91 seconds.

Elms College returns to conference play with a make-up game at Lesley University on Wednesday, February 20. Tip-off is 8:00 p.m.
