CHICOPEE, MA, Jan. 27, 2007 - Elms College freshman guard Taeler Connor (Ayer, MA) netted a collegiate career-high 22 points and sophomore forward Paige Schneider (Windsor, CT) added a season-high 16 points and 12 rebounds to help spark the Blazers to a 73-37 win over Bay Path College in Saturday afternoon's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's basketball game at the Maguire Center.

Elms College, which remained unbeaten in 13 all-time meetings with Bay Path, defeated the Wildcats for the second time in five days to improve to 6-10 overall, 4-5 NAC. Bay Path lost its 15th straight to fall to 1-15 overall, 0-12 NAC.

Connor shot a sizzling 7 of 9 from the field and dropped in 6 of 7 from the free throw line as she more than doubled her previous season-high of 10 set earlier this season.

Schneider, who registered her first double-double of the year, dropped in seven of her points in the game's opening 3:50 to help the Blazers race out to a 12-0 lead.

Although Bay Path responded with an 11-7 run to cut its deficit to 19-11 with 10:28 remaining in the half, the Blazers answered with an 18-9 run of its own over the final 10 minutes of the half to build a 37-20 lead at intermission.

Elms College then put the game out of reach with a 21-12 run over the first 10 minutes of the second half to seal the victory.

Junior center Chrissy Ordyna (Great Barrington, MA) tallied 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while junior forward Hilary Bielunis (Hatfield, MA) added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Wildcats, who committed 24 turnovers.

Sophomore guard Jenn Payton (Stratford, CT) scored nine points, sophomore forward Shauna Sullivan (Chicopee, MA) added seven points and freshman guard Annie Dunnack (Mansfield Center, CT) hauled in 11 rebounds for the Blazers, who outscored the Wildcats 38-6 in the paint.

Elms College returns to conference play on Tuesday, January 30 at Lasell College. Tip-off is 6:00 p.m.
