WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO MOUNT HOLYOKE, 64-47

SOUTH HADLEY, MA, Nov. 28, 2006 - Elms College sophomore guard Jenn Payton (Stratford, CT) netted a team-high 14 points, but Mount Holyoke College placed three players in double figures and jumped out to a 12-point halftime lead en route to a 64-47 win over the Blazers in Tuesday night's non-conference game at the Kendall Sports Complex.

Mount Holyoke won its home opener to improve to 3-1, while Elms College fell to 2-2.

The host Lyons, who never trailed, held a 32-18 scoring advantage in the paint.

Freshman forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA), this week's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week, added seven points and a hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds for the Blazers in the losing effort.

Elms College returns to non-conference play when it hosts Union College on Sunday, December 3. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
