Women's Basketball Falls To Johnson State, 62-44

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO JOHNSON STATE, 62-44

JOHNSON, VT, Feb. 16, 2007 - Elms College freshman guard Ally Wanat (West Springfield, MA) tallied a team-high 10 points but Johnson State senior forward Sarah Bose (Enosburg, VT) netted a game-high 14 points to help lift the Badgers to a 62-44 victory in Friday night's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game in Johnson Vermont.

With the loss, Elms College falls to 7-17 overall, 5-12 NAC, while Johnson State improves to 13-11 overall, 10-7 NAC.

Sophomore forwards Paige Schneider (Windsor, CT) and Erin Hutchinson (Groton, MA) netted nine points apiece in teh loss for the Blazers.

Johnson freshman center Claudia Martineau (Washington, VT) netted 13 points and sophomore guard Casey Rusin (Wilmington, VT) contributed 11 points for the Badgers who forced 27 turnovers and held the Blazers to 25-percent shooting on the night.

The Blazers conclude regular season play Saturday, February 17, when they travel to Castleton for a North Atlantic Conference game. Tip-off is 8:00 p.m.
