WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO BECKER, 79-69
LEICESTER, MA, Feb. 8, 2007 - Elms College freshman guard Ally Wanat, (West Springfield, MA) netted a team-high 15 points, but Becker College sophomore guard Kristin Karat (Enfield, CT) tallied a game-high 29 points to lead the Hawks to a 79-69 victory in Thursday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's basketball game at Leicester.
With the loss, Elms College lost their fifth straight to fall to 6-15 overall, 4-10 NAC, while Becker College improved to 14-7 overall, 9-6 NAC.
Becker sophomore forward Beth Pion (Enfield, CT) contributed 23 points and snagged 15 rebounds to post the game's only double-double in the win for the Hawks.
Sophomore guard Tee Nazario (Bronx, NY) registered 14 points, and sophomore forward Paige Schneider (Windsor, CT) added 13 points off the bench giving the Blazers three players in double figures in the loss.
The Blazers return to conference action Saturday, February 10, when they host Lasell College. Tip-off is 3:00 p.m.
