HAMPTON NAMED NECC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

ATTLEBORO, MA, April 20, 2009 - Softball freshman pitcher/first baseman Courtney Hampton (Westfield, MA) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, April 20.

Hampton posted her first collegiate-career, three-win pitching week for the Blazers, as she went 3-0, struck out 30 and allowed just one earned run in 22.0 innings for a sparkling 0.32 ERA.

Offensively, Hampton led the Blazers on the week with a .478 batting average (11 for 23) and seven runs scored.
