CHESTNUT HILL, MA, April 10, 2008 - Elms College senior pitcher Tammie Tremblay (Springfield, MA) and freshman pitcher Andrea Ramsdell (Gardner, MA) each threw complete-game efforts to help lead the Blazers to a 4-0 and 12-0 victories over Wheelock College in Thursday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader at Chestnut Hill.

With the sweep, Elms College improved to 9-8 overall, 2-2 NAC. Wheelock fell to 4-10, 1-9 NAC.

In game one, The Blazers held off the Wildcats  in a defensive battle by adding a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning to battle its way to the 4-0 shutout.

Tremblay earned the win, as she held the Wildcats to only two base runners on two hits while striking out nine in seven shutout innings. Junior second baseman Kerrie Bowden (Chicopee, MA) got the Blazers offense started with an RBI double in the third inning.

Sophomore left fielder Serina Percoski (Westfield, MA) and junior center fielder Danielle LaPlante (Randolph, VT) each added two hits and a run scored for the Blazers in the victory.

In the second game, Elms College busted open a 1-0 game with 11 runs in the top of the fourth inning. Ramsdell followed up Tremblay's complete-game effort with another two-hitter in five innings while striking out eight Wildcat batters.

Bowden again provided the offensive spark, as she belted recorded three  hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
