SOFTBALL FALLS TO NORTH PARK, 6-1
FORT MYERS, FL. March 11, 2008 - Elms College sophomore catcher Kim Lastowski (Turners Falls, MA) and senior first baseman Christina Giampetruzzi (Westfield, MA) combined to go 4 for 6 with a run scored, but the Blazers could not stop North Park from earning a 6-1 victory in Tuesday morning's non-conference softball game held as part of the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida.
Elms College moves to an overall record of 2-4.
Senior pitcher Tammie Tremblay (Springfield, MA) allowed six runs on 12 hits and recorded three strikeouts in the losing effort.
Lastowski finished 2 for 4 with a run scored while Giampetruzzi went 2 for 2 to lead the Blazers offensively.
Elms College returns to non-conference play Wednesday, March 12 when the Blazers face Eastern Nazarene at 9:00 a.m. The game is part of the Gene Cusic Classic and will be held in Fort Myers, Florida.
