Four Softball Players Named All-NAC

FOUR SOFTBALL PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-NAC TEAM 

CHICOPEE, MA, May 5, 2007 - The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) recently announced its 2007 All-NAC softball team and Elms College had four players named to those teams.

Junior first baseman Christina Giampetruzzi (Westfield, MA) received All-NAC First Team honors. Giampetruzzi has a .436 batting average and 33 RBI and is currently on a 20-game hit streak.

Junior pitcher Tammie Tremblay (Springfield, MA) received All-NAC Second Team honors. Tremblay has an 11-5 record on the mound with an earned run average of 2.56 and has struck out 64 batters and issued only 28 walks in 19 appearances this season.

Senior shortstop Jen LeDoux (Easthampton, MA) and freshman catcher Kim Lastowski (Turners Falls, MA) earned All-NAC Honorable Mention. LeDoux has a .304 batting average and leads the Blazers in stolen bases with eight. Lastowski has committed just one error in 26 games started for the Blazers and is second on the team with a .993 fielding percentage.

The Blazers also received the 2007 All-NAC Team Sportsmanship Award.
