MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SINKS SOUTHERN VERMONT, 3-0
BENNINGTON, VT, March 19, 2009 - Elms College sophomore outside hitter Alberto Bravo (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico), freshman outside hitter Sequiel Sanchez Velez (San Sebastian, Puerto Rico) and junior setter Ivan Andujar (Carolina, Puerto Rico) combined for 21 kills to lead the Blazers to a 3-0 (30-7, 30-10, 30-10) win over Southern Vermont College in Wednesday night's North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division men's volleyball match at the Southern Vermont Fieldhouse.
Elms College (14-11, 9-3 NECVA) won its fifth straight and was victorious for the seventh time in eight matches. Southern Vermont fell to 2-13, 0-12 NECVA.
Andujar and freshman setter Jesus Echevarria (San Juan, Puerto Rico) combined for 28 assists for the Blazers, who remain in second place in the NECVA New England Division.
For the match, Elms College hit .509 (34-6-55), including .562 in the first set, and .565 in the third.
Elms College returns to action on Saturday, March 21 when it hosts Daniel Webster and Baruch in a tri-match. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
