Men's Volleyball Downs Emmanuel, 3-1

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DOWNS EMMANUEL, 3-1

BOSTON, MA, March 20, 2008 - Elms College freshman outside hitters Alberto Bravo (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) and Carlos DeLeon-Gomez (Carolina, Puerto Rico) combined for 32 kills and the Blazers shook off a slow start and eventually rolled to a convincing 3-1 (26-30, 34-32, 30-17, 30-16) win over Emmanuel in Thursday night's North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division men's volleyball match at the Yawkey Center.

Elms College (17-8, 7-2 NECVA) extended its win streak to six straight and was victorious for the eighth time in 10 matches this month.

Freshman middle blocker Curt Despard (Enfield, CT) hammered down 15 kills and added a team-high five total blocks, sophomore setter Ivan Andujar (Carolina, Puerto Rico) handed out 61 assists and junior outside hitter Marc Carrasco (Tucson, AZ) added 18 digs in the winning effort.

The Blazers play their final three regular season matches at home, beginning with a divisional home contest against Lesley University on Tuesday, March 25. Match time is 7:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
