Bravo Named NECVA Rookie of the Week
BRAVO NAMED NECVA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CHICOPEE, MA. March 3,
2008 - Elms College freshman outside hitter
Alberto Bravo (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) has been
named the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA)
Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
Bravo, who also earned the NECVA's top overall rookie honor back on February 7, hammered out 17 kills in the Blazers' 3-2 (30-26, 27-30, 30-25, 28-30, 15-5) loss at Newbury on Friday night. In the Elms College 3-2 (30-17, 28-30, 30-20, 29-31, 19-17) loss to MIT on Saturday night Bravo recorded a school record 39 kills while adding 10 digs and two block solos.
As of the March 1 NECVA statistics report Bravo ranks 10th among all players in the 39-team conference in kills per game (4.51).
Elms College returns to conference play Wednesday, March 5 at Mount Ida. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
