CHICOPEE, MA, Nov. 16, 2008 - Elms College freshman Zach LeBarron (Bennington, VT) swept all three freestyle races, while senior Jason DiMauro (New Hartford, CT) and freshman Nick Provost (Three Rivers, MA) each won two events to help lead the Blazers to a 138-64 win over St. Joseph's College (ME) in Sunday's men's swimming meet at Partyka Natatorium.

LeBarron cruised to victories in the 50-meter (25.84), 100-meter (1:00.53) and 200-meter freestyles (2:14.26) for the Blazers (1-1), who won nine of the 12 individual events.

DiMauro was a winner in both the 50-meter breaststroke (36.15) and 400-meter freestyle (4:57.48), while Provost placed first in the 200-meter individual medley (2:34.26) and 800-meter freestyle (10:06.29).

LeBarron, DiMauro and Provost  combined with freshman Adam Tonnesen (Norwich, CT) to clock a new school-record in the meet-ending, 200-meter freestyle relay (1:48.58).

Tonnesen had a banner day for the Blazers, as he also established new school records in both the 50-meter (31.54) and 100-meter (1:11.16) backstroke events.

Freshman Tyler Filiault (North Adams, MA) (1:10.01, 100-meter butterfly) and freshman Garrett Brune (Lakeville, MA) (1:21.63, 100-meter breaststroke) each won an event for the Blazers.

St. Joseph's freshman Kevin Towne (Shrewsbury, MA) finished first in the 50-meter backstroke (32.14) and later teamed with freshmen Kieran O'Connell (Gloucester, MA), Jordan Simenas (Cambridge, MA) and senior Nick Zecher (Mansfield, MA) in the Monks' winning 200-meter freestyle relay (2:00.25).

Elms College returns to action when it hosts Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, November 22. Meet time is 11:00 a.m.
