CHICOPEE, MA, Nov. 22, 2008 - Elms College freshmen Adam Tonnesen (Norwich, CT) and Zach LeBarron (Bennington, VT) combined for five victories and four school records to help lead the Blazers to a 146-115 win over Colby-Sawyer College in Saturday's men's swimming meet at Partyka Natatorium.

Elms College won its second straight meet to improve to 2-1, while Colby-Sawyer fell to 2-4.

Tonnesen posted school-record setting victories in both the 50-meter backstroke (30.90) and 100-meter backstroke (1:09.35), while LeBarron set new school marks en route to first place finishes in the 50-meter freestyle (25.90) and 100-meter freestyle (57.16).

Tonnesen and LeBarron also teamed with freshmen Tyler Filiault (North Adams, MA) and Garrett Brune (Lakeville, MA) to set a new school record in the Blazers' winning 200-meter medley relay (2:02.69).

Brune was also a two-event winner for Elms College, as he won the 50-meter breaststroke (34.77) and set a new school record in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:18.14).

Freshman Nick Provost (Three Rivers, MA) clocked a school-record winning time of 5:16.98 in the 400-meter individual medley, and sophomore Nick Whitman (Florence, MA) set a new school mark in the 100-meter butterfly (1:08.55).

Junior Ryan Martin (Chester, NH) and sophomore Kyle Bowie (Keene, NH) each won two events for the Chargers in the losing effort.

Martin was a winner in both the 200-meter freestyle (2:12.63) and 400-meter freestyle (4:50.65), while Bowie placed first in the 50-meter butterfly (29.09) and 100-meter butterfly (1:04.64).

Saturday's meet concluded first semester action for Elms College, which will return to dual-meet competition on Saturday, January 10 at Mount St. Mary's beginning at 1:00 p.m.
