SOUTH HADLEY, MA, Dec. 5, 2007 - Elms College sophomore Liz Walker (Holyoke, MA) was victorious in the 100-meter breaststroke and sophomore Jason DiMauro (New Hartford, CT) earned a pair of second place finishes for the Blazers in Wednesday night's men and women's swimming meet at Mount Holyoke College.

In the women's meet, Elms College (2-5) fell to both Mount Holyoke 132-76 and Trinity 167-49.

Walker won the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:22.31. She also placed third in the 50-meter freestyle, but clocked a new school-record with a time of 29.98.

Sophomore Lindsay Koladicz (Wethersfield, CT) placed second out of five competitors in the one-meter dive (168.38) to post the Blazers other runner-up individual finish.

In the men's meet, Elms College (0-5) lost to Trinity 139-38.

DiMauro finished second in both the 400-meter freestyle (4:52.00) and 100-meter freestyle (1:03.52). Dimauro's time in the 400-meter freestyle qualified him for February's New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship.

The Blazers also received second place finishes from sophomore Mike Starke (Chicopee, MA) (100-meter breaststroke, 1:23.67), and freshmen Nick Whitman (Florence, MA) (50-meter freestyle, 31.08) and Joe King (Springfield, MA) (200-meter freestyle, 2:17.18).

King's time in the 200-freestyle also qualified him for the NEISDA Championship.

Both the men and women's swimming teams conclude first semester dual-meet action when they host St. Joseph's (ME) on Saturday, December 8. Meet time is 2:30 p.m. at Partyka Natatorium.
