CHICOPEE, MA, Feb. 2, 2008 - Elms College freshmen Joe King (Springfield, MA) and Nick Whitman (Florence, MA) each clocked a new school-record to help pace the Blazers to a 77-49 win over Regis College in Saturday's men's swimming dual-meet at Partyka Natatorium.

Elms College snapped a four-meet losing streak and improved to 2-9 overall.

Regis, which is in its first intercollegiate season, fell to 1-5.

King broke his own school-record in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:34.69, while Whitman broke Chris Papsin's '03 three-year old record in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:37.37.

Sophomore Jason DiMauro (New Hartford, CT) outkicked Regis freshman Michael Moriarty (Watertown, CT) at the finish to win the 100-meter freestyle (1:02.25).

Freshman Ben Perry (Chicopee, MA) was solid for Regis, as he posted victories in the 200-meter backstroke (2:28.50) and 50-meter backstroke (32.08).

Elms College returns to action on Saturday, February 16 at the Vassar Invitational. Meet time is 1:00 p.m.
