NEW LONDON, NH, Nov. 17, 2007 - Elms College sophomore Liz Walker (Holyoke, MA) won three events, but host Colby-Sawyer posted a 172-104 win over the Blazers in Saturday's women's swimming meet at New London, New Hampshire.

Walker clocked first place finishes in both the 50-yard breaststroke (33.55), 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.23) and 200-yard freestyle (2:10.13).

Senior Kaity Jo Bryll (East Hartland, CT) placed first in both the 50-yard freestyle (27.70) and set a new school-record with her win in the 100-yard freestyle (59.16).

Sophomore Marie Waterhouse (East Longmeadow, MA) added a victory in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.08) for the Blazers, who fell to 2-3 overall.

In the men's meet, freshman Nick Whitman (Florence, MA) and sophomore Mike Starke (Chicopee, MA) each won an event, but the Blazers fell to Colby-Sawyer 161-63.

Whitman posted his first collegiate victory in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.59) and Starke was first in the 100-yard individual medley (1:05.69).

Whitman and Starke also teamed with sophomore Brian Marrero (Kendall Park, NJ) and freshman Joe King (Springfield, MA) to win the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:54.49).

Elms College's women's team returns to action in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship on Saturday, December 1 at Simmons College.

The men's team (0-4) next competes on Wednesday, December 5 against Trinity at Mount Holyoke College.
