Men's Swimming Fifth At Vassar Sprint Invitational
ELMS COLLEGE FIFTH AT VASSAR SPRINT INVITATIONAL
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY, Feb. 10, 2007 - Elms College freshman Jason DiMauro (New Hartford, CT) earned three second place finishes for the Blazers in Saturday's Vassar Sprint Invitational men's swimming meet in Poughkeepsie.
Host Vassar College won the five team invitational with a score of 177. Skidmore College was second (118), SUNY Maritime was third (112), Pace University was fourth (105), and Elms College finished fifth (83).
DiMauro recorded a time of 5:13.45 in 500-yard freestyle, a time of 4:47.51 in the 400-yard individual medley, and a time of 1:58.06 in the 200-yard freestyle.
DiMauro also joined freshman Mark Pirruccio (Brewster, MA), senior Ted Manley (Monson, MA), and freshman Mike Starke (Chicopee, MA) to take first place honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.04.
The Blazers conclude their 2006-07 season at next weekend's New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship at the University of New Hampshire.
