CHICOPEE, MA, Dec. 6, 2006 - Elms College freshman Jason DiMauro (New Hartford, CT) posted a pair of first place finishes, but Trinity College freshman Brooks Gerli (Sharon, CT) won two events and the visiting Bantams used their depth to pull away to a 100-86 win over the Blazers in Wednesday night's men's swimming meet at Partyka Natatorium.

Trinity improved to 2-1 with the victory, while Elms College fell to 0-2.

DiMauro was victorious in both the 400-meter freestyle (4:39.67) and 200-meter individual medley (2:35.50). He also established a new school record en route to a second place finish in the 50-meter backstroke (33.17).

Gerli was impressive for the Bantams, as he set a new Partyka Natatorium record in his victory in the 100-meter freestyle (57.01). He broke the existing three-year old record by .08 second.

Gerli also posted a win in the 50-meter freestyle (26.04) for the Bantams, who claimed victories in eight events on Wednesday night.

Senior Jeff Yoshida (Seattle, WA) posted victories in both the 200-meter freestyle (2:12.93) and 100-meter backstroke (1:12.77) for Trinity.

DiMauro teamed with freshmen Mike Starke (Chicopee, MA), Mark Pirruccio (Brewster, MA) and Andrew Melendez (Holyoke, MA) to set a new Elms College school record in their victory in the 200-meter medley relay (2:05.99).

Elms College returns to action when it hosts Mount St. Mary College on Saturday, January 13. Meet time is 1:00 p.m.
