CHICOPEE, MA, Oct. 25, 2008 - Elms College freshman goalkeeper Ryan Sullivan (Agawam, MA) recorded six saves in the Blazers' 1-0 loss to Lesley University in Saturday's New England Collegiate Conference men's soccer game at Leary Field.

With the win, Lesley improved to 5-11-1 overall, 3-2 NECC. The Lynx now advance to the upcoming four-team NECC Tournament against an opponent to be determined.

Elms College is eliminated from a conference tournament berth as it finished its 2008 season 4-12, 1-5 NECC.

Lesley sophomore forward Tyler Reeves (Coventry, CT) scored the game's only goal with his team-leading seventh tally of the season in just the second minute of play.  Reeves received the pass off a far cross from freshman midfielder Clark Davidson (Keeseville, NY) and was able to punch the ball into the far corner of the net.

Elms College had a golden opportunity to tie the game in the 86th minute, when sophomore goalkeeper Zachary Almeida-Beers (Rehoboth, MA) made a beautiful goal-line stop on sophomore midfielder Nick Espinola's (Derry, NH) point-blank blast.

Almeida-Beers stopped three shots to post his third win of the year for the Lynx, who outshot the Blazers 14-6.
