BENNINGTON, VT, Sept. 27, 2008 - Southern Vermont freshman midfielder Nick Haggerty (Wynantskill, NY) netted the game-winning goal in the 76th minute to lead the Mountaineers to a 1-0 win over Elms College in Saturday's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's soccer game at Everett Field.

With the loss, Elms College fell to 3-6 overall, 0-2 NECC. Southern Vermont improved to 2-6-1 overall, 1-1 NECC.
